Iruka Porisu

The indie band “イルカポリス 海豚刑警”, formed in Taipei in 2017, consists of a lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, a vocalist and lead guitarist, a bassist, and a d
rummer.

The band’s name is inspired by a character from the well-known Japanese animation Kochikame (こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所). This character is passionate and righteous, with a tough exterior but a vulnerable inner self — traits that reflect the personalities of the band members in their daily lives.

Their debut album Call Me When Night Goes Blue introduced the band’s concept and image, drawing inspiration from hero cartoons to shape each member into a unique character. The album was nominated for Best Band at the 31st Golden Melody Awards.
Their second album, Bad News Punched!, was released in September 2022 and shares the band’s experiences and inspirations as they explore the human world.
