“The Southern Kingdom reaches the top. The domineering power goes throughout the world.” SOUTHERN OVERLORD is one of the most iconic outdoor stages at Megaport, located near the magnificent Kaohsiung Harbor. Being regarded as a stage of the most spectacular geographical features in Taiwan as well as the most powerful outdoor stage of Megaport, SOUTHERN OVERLORD shines both day and night. In the day, the audience can have a grandstand view of the awe-inspiring harbor, while at night, the starry sky is lit up by splendid lighting and sound effects of SOUTHERN OVERLORD.
DRAGON GODDESS
DRAGON GODDESS is also one of the biggest Megaport stages. Different from the dynamic power given by SOUTHERN OVERLORD, DRAGON GODDESS provides a softer atmosphere which is, meanwhile, more diverse and inclusive. Here the audience is allowed to enjoy light and comfy melodies that best suit a cozy getaway from daily life on the green. Moreover, what makes DRAGON GODDESS unique is that the extraordinary city view of Kaohsiung Bay Area can also be appreciated along with the music here.
DRAGON KING
DRAGON KING is the stage with the longest history at Megaport. Also, it’s the largest indoor stage with a GA floor section on the first floor while a seating area is set on the second floor. DRAGON KING can fully present immersive visual art as well as auditory effects, and thus it’s the first choice for artists who value comprehensive visual presentation.
OCEAN WAVES
OCEAN WAVES was, originally, a free outdoor stage. From 2023, due to the rearrangement of stages, it was moved into the large warehouse in LIVE WAREHOUSE; now it becomes one of the indoor paid stages. The name OCEAN WAVES is derived from the song title of a well-known Taiwanese song, “Ocean Waves”, by Huang Yee-Ling, a Taiwanese female singer. The song sings about how the ups and downs in life are like ocean waves, which echoes with the core value of the festival.
NÂ PÓ CHIŌH
NÂ PÓ CHIŌH is located in the small warehouse in LIVE WAREHOUSE. This stage is named after NÂ PÓ CHIŌH Grand Cabaret, where a lot of super stars used to perform at. Carrying the various styles of a Cabaret, NÂ PÓ CHIŌH puts together variety shows, talk shows, traditional art and other performances that normally do not fall under the umbrella of a music festival. It’s the most creative and one-of-a-kind stage with the most fun at Megaport.
LARUS CANUS
The stage LARUS CANUS was inspired by “kamome”, which means seagulls in Japanese. Its name originated from the lyrics of a Taiwanese song, “Set Sail with Joy”, which sings about the sailing life of sailors in Siziwan, Kaohsiung. LARUS CANUS features heavy metal and rock and roll music, which make it one of the stages that real rock lovers enjoy the most.
WE SHALL OVERCOME
WE SHALL OVERCOME is a stage built on the rooftop of a top-floor, which is also the stage closest to the sun at Megaport. Owing to the weight limit of the top floor, the music performed here is mainly light music such as ballad, folk music and light electronic. WE SHALL OVERCOME gives a broad harbor view where the audience gets to have a look at the other side of the Kaohsiung Harbor. It has the best dusk view among all Megaport stages around sunset time.
DAIYU MARU
DAIYU MARU is the only vessel stage in Taiwan that sails its audience away from the land. “Maru”, in Japanese, means peace, safety and completeness, and this is why the word “maru” is often included in ship names when Japanese names their ships. The performances on DAIYU MARU are majorly DJ shows; each cruise lasts one hour. Aside from 60 minutes of non-stop dance music, the audience can further enjoy the feast of the beautiful sea view of the Kaohsiung Harbor.
