Yu-Ching Huang is a musician from New Taipei City,Taiwan. Before relocating to Berlin, Germany, she was briefly active in Taiwan’s underground music scene, serving as the main creative force behind the bands Space Cake and OCD Girl.
During her time living in Berlin, she founded the duo Aemong, a project dedicated to the exploration of noise and sound. The group released three albums through the labels Diskotopia and Altered States Tapes.
In 2020, Huang began her solo project and released her debut album 化為人形 in 2022. Over the following two years, she completed her second album The Crystal Hum in Berlin, which was released by the UK label Night School.
In 2024, Huang returned to Taiwan and settled there. After experimenting with band-format headline shows, she began performing and touring in a more personal solo format for the first time in 2025. She continues to explore the possibilities of live performance.
Huang’s work skillfully blends grooves and sounds generated through experimentation with electric guitar, synthesizers, and vocals. In her recent releases, influences from noise rock, dream pop, and synth pop are clearly present.
“in using a restricted palette of sounds (otherworldly Casio keyboards, treated guitars, 80s drum machines), topped with sensual vocals sung in English and Mandarin, Yu Ching creates a rich multilayered world that wallows in all its nocturnal splendour.
If David Lynch was running a club in the world of ‘Blade Runner’, this would be the sound of the house band.”
