Sorry Youth as a power trio was formed by guitarist Weni, bassist Giang Giang, and drummer Chung-Han. Taiwanese lyrics are an essential base of their songwriting as well as a hallmark of Sorry Youth, and the song arrangements capture a strong sense of live performance. They are among the few indie bands in Taiwan to compose lyrics entirely in Taiwanese.
Sorry Youth is now not only a significant indie band as a standard-bearer in the Taiwanese indie scene, has all their sold-out shows, but also frequently performs at music festivals at home and abroad, such as Summer Sonic (JP), Megaport Festival (TW), Shima fes SETOUCHI (JP), Mori Michi Ichiba (JP), and SXSW (US); as well as have been touring Japan, South Korea, Canada, Hong Kong, and many other countries. In 2020, they also curated the Wind and Current Music Festival independently, trying to further explore the possibility of a collision between music culture and art in Taiwan.

Formed by guitarist Weni, bassist Giang Giang, and drummer Chung-Han as a power trio, Taiwanese lyrics are an essential base of their songwriting as well as a hallmark of Sorry Youth, and the song arrangements capture a strong sense of live performance－fully of vibrancy and cordiality musically. They are also among the few indie bands in Taiwan to compose lyrics entirely in Taiwanese. They have established one of the unique features of the Taiwanese-rock sound nowadays with the essence of their music that is deeply influenced by bands from the 80s and 90s, such as The Cure, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Mogwai, The National, and Wilco, etc.
They craft and carve out sounds of mountains, ocean, and cities with riffing rich emotional melodies throughout their debut album Seafood, released in 2012 that established the style of the band The second album Brothers Shouldn’t Live Without Dreams released in 2017 is recognized by broad audience and won the Best Album Design of Golden Melody and the Best Rock Album of Golden Indie Music Awards; and the third album Bad Times, Good Times released in 2021 won the Best Rock Album of Golden Indie Music Awards, featuring appearances from experimental electronic act Sam-Seng-Hian-Ge, Chen Hui-Ting of Taiwanese indie-rock icons Tizzy Bac, and Ke Jen-Chien of LTK Commune, one of the band’s formative influences.
