The WLTZ was formed in 2024, evolving from a personal project by Tseng Lee, former vocalist of the indie band Heatsketch. Bringing together bassist Tsai Yu-Sheng, guitarist Kao Hsu-Yu, and drummer Bigboom Luk, the project grew into a four-piece full-band lineup. Between 2024 and 2025, they released three EPs—“I Am Home Now”, “A Man All at Sea”, and “Stay Tender”—and are currently hard at work on their first full-length album. Though still a young band, each member has spent years honing their craft, with extensive performance experience and award recognition. When the four come together, their creative collision sparks a powerful chemistry, shaping the band into something warm and deeply human.
Musically, The WLTZ is rooted in 90’s indie rock and indie folk, infused with a more groovy rhythmic pulse and a distinctive bass-driven character. They place strong emphasis on songwriting structure, arrangement, and lyrical delivery—often unfolding into unexpected sections that reveal addictive, lingering imagery and rich layered harmonies. Drawing inspiration from everyday life, their songs speak in a gentle tone, offering listeners a voice that resonates on the same wavelength.
