Nymphia Wind

Nymphia Wind is an internationally recognized drag artist, performer, and cultural advocate from Taiwan, best known as the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16. She is celebrated for her signature “banana aesthetic,” meticulous craftsmanship, and cross-cultural performance language that weaves together traditional folklore, visual symbolism, and stage presence—making her one of the most distinctive Asian voices in contemporary drag.

Since 2024, she has appeared on several landmark stages worldwide: performing and delivering a speech inside Taiwan’s Presidential Office, gracing the cover of Vogue Taiwan, turning heads on the Emmys red carpet with her iconic banana look, and reinterpreting the Taiwanese sea goddess Mazu at the Cultural Olympiad in Paris—transforming spiritual tradition into a globally resonant symbol. That same year, she was named the inaugural Changemaker of the Year by the Harvard Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative (HUFPI), in recognition of her impact at the intersection of LGBTQ+ advocacy and cultural diplomacy. In 2025, she joined the Amsterdam Canal Parade and staged a spectacular solo production at New York’s historic Town Hall Theater.

“I’m not just wearing a look,” she once said. “I’m putting my culture onstage.” Through drag as a vessel of embodied memory, Asian identity, and cultural reinvention, Nymphia Wind is transforming the spirit of Taiwanese drag into a global language—equal parts visual, political, and profoundly personal.
