Li Zhuxin, a singer-songwriter born in Tainan, began her musical journey at the age of 11 when she first entered a recording studio. She gained wider recognition after participating in the music competition show MUSIC MAKER in 2023. The following year, she released her second album Suí Shui, an experimental work that boldly blends Taiwanese lyrics with French-style vocal phrasing, Japanese enka, Spanish influences, and African rhythms. The album has been praised for breaking boundaries between languages and musical styles.
At the 36th Golden Melody Awards in 2025, Suí Shui received six nominations and won three major awards: Best Taiwanese Female Singer, Best Taiwanese Album, and Album of the Year, making her the biggest winner of the ceremony. During her acceptance speech, she ran barefoot onto the stage, humorously calling herself a “crazy girl,” and invited her parents to join her, emotionally thanking her mother for years of quiet support in pursuing her dreams.
Li Zhuxin describes Suí Shui as a spiritual and emotional journey of female self-exploration, aiming to encourage people to break free from both social expectations and self-imposed limitations. Judges praised her as “quirky yet fully aware of her strengths, with exceptional technique.” Through her sincere and liberated performance style, she challenges conventional perceptions of Taiwanese-language music.
The album also received international recognition at the 18th Freshmusic Awards (FMA) in Singapore. Suí Shui was nominated in several major categories and won Album of the Year, Top 10 Albums of the Year, Best Female Vocalist, and Breakthrough Artist of the Year. These honors mark her rise from a television competition stage to international critical attention, demonstrating both her strong songwriting ability and cross-cultural appeal.
